3x + 2y=6 .......(1)

4x + y=1 .........(2)

Multiplying equation (1) with 4 and equation (2) with 3

12x + 8y=24 ........(3)

12x + 3y=3 ........(4)

Subtracting equation (4) from (3)

5y=21 => y=21/5

Substituting the value of y in equation (1)

3x + 42/5 = 24

=>3x = 78/5

=>x=26/5
