12x+8y=32

multiply eq1by 4 and eq 2 by 3 we get

12x+8y = 32----(3)

12x+9y = 33----(4)

substract eq 3rd by 4th

12x+8y-(12x+9y) = 32-33

12x+8y-12x-9y=-1

8y-9y=-1

-y=-1

y=1

Now put the value of y in equation 3rd we get

12x+8x1= 32

12x+8=32

12x=32-8

12x=24

x=24/12

x=2
