Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Let p ( x ) = 3x³ - 4x²+ 5x - 8

and g ( x ) = ( x - 3 )

Long division :

3x³ - 4x² + 5x - 8 = ( x - 3 ) × ( 3x² - 9x² ) + ( 5x² + 5x - 8 )-------remainder

5x² + 5x - 8 = ( x - 3 ) × ( 5x - 15x ) + ( 20x - 8 )------remainder

20x - 8 = ( x - 3 ) × ( 20 ) + 52-------remainder.

∴ ( 3x³ - 4x² + 5x - 8 ) = ( x - 3 ) × ( 3x² + 5x + 20 ) + 52

Here, Quotient = q ( x ) = ( 3x² + 5x + 20 ) and

Remainder = r ( x ) = 52
