Step-by-step explanation:

Given :-

3x + 3y = 24

2x + y = 13

To find:-

Solve using substitution method ?

Solution :-

Given equations are

3x + 3y = 24

=> 3(x + y ) = 24

=> x + y = 24/3

x + y = 8

=> y = 8-x -------------(1)

and

2x+y = 13-------------(2)

On Substituting the value of y in (2) from (1) then

=> 2x + (8-x) = 13

=> 2x+8-x = 13

=> x +8 = 13

=> x = 13-8

=> x = 5

On Substituting the value of x in (1) then

y = 8-5

y = 3

Therefore, x=5 and y = 3

Answer:-

The solution for the given problem is (5,3)

Check:-

x=5 and y = 3

3x+3y

=> 3(5)+3(3)

=> 15+9

=>24

and

2x+y

=> 2(5)+3

=> 10+3

=> 13

Verified the given relations in the given problem.

Used Method:-

  • Substitution method
