Find the value of x and y
SOLUTIOn
✒ Given equations
- 3x - 4y = 0 --(i)
- x - y = - 6 --(ii)
✞ From eqⁿ (i)
→ x - y = - 6
→ x = y - 6
✞ Put the value of " x " in equation (i)
→ 3x - 4y = 0
→ 3(y - 6) - 4y = 0
→ 3y - 18 - 4y = 0
→ - y = 18
→ y = - 18
✞ Again put the value of " y " in eqⁿ (ii)
→ x - y = -6
→ x - (-18) = - 6
→ x + 18 = -6
→ x = -18 - 6 = - 24
Therefore,
Required value of x = - 24
Required value of y = -18
