3x + 4(x - 1) =  \frac{5}{2}  \\  \\ 3x + 4x - 4 =  \frac{5}{2}  \\  \\ 7x =  \frac{5}{2}   + 4 \\  \\ 7x =  \frac{5 + 8}{2}  \\  \\ 7x =  \frac{13}{2}  \\  \\ x =  \frac{13}{2 \times 7}  \\  \\ x =  \frac{13}{14}

3x+4x-4=5/2


7x-4=5/2


7x=5/2+1/4


7x=10/4+8/4


7x=18/4


X=18/4-1/7


X=126/28-4/28

X=122/28

X=4.3 (in decimal)
