soving (1) and (2)

3x+4y=10

4x-4y=4

7x=14

x=14/7

x=2

substituting x=2 in (1)

we get 3*2+4y=10

6+4y=10

4y=10-6

4y=4

y=4/4=1

so x=2 and y=1
