Answer :

By elimination method -

 \\ \\ \: \: \sf \: \: 3x - 4y = 10 \: \: \qquad \: \: - - \: \: (i) \\ \\ \\ \sf \: \: \: \: 2x - 2y = 2 \: \: \qquad \: \: - - \: \: (ii) \\ \\

Multiplying equation (ii) by 2, we obtain -

 \\ \\ \: \: \sf \: \: 4x - 4y = 4 \: \: \qquad \: \: - - \: \: (iii) \\ \\

Adding equation (i) and (iii), we obtain -

 \\ \\ \sf \: \: 7x = 14 \\ \\ \\ \implies \sf \: x = \dfrac{14}{7} \\ \\ \\ \implies \sf \blue{x = 2} \\ \\

Substituting in equation (i), we obtain -

 \\ \\ \: \sf \: \: 3x + 4y = 10 \\ \\ \\ \implies \sf \: 3(2) + 4y = 10 \\ \\ \\ \implies \sf \: 6 + 4y = 10 \\ \\ \\ \implies \sf \: 4y = 10 - 6 \\ \\ \\ \implies \sf \: 4y = 4 \\ \\ \\ \implies \sf \blue{y = 1} \\ \\

Hence, x = 2 and y = 1.
