Answer:

By substitution method,

3x+4y=10 & 2x−2y=2⇒2(x−y)=2⇒x−y=1 ___ (2)

∴x=y+1→(1).

Substituting in equation (2).

∴3x+4y=10⇒3(y+1)+4y=10

⇒3y+3+4y=10⇒7y=7⇒y=1

∴x=1+1=2

∴x=2,y=1

➜ [ 3x + 4y = 10 ] ____ (i) eq.

➜ [ 2x + 5y = 9 ] ____ (ii) eq.

 \large\mathcal{SOLUTION}

➜ 3x + 4y = 10

➜ 3x = 10 - 4y

➜ x = (10 - 4y) / 3

➜ \large x \:  = \frac{10 - 4y}{3}

Now let's solve eq. (ii)...

➜ 2x + 5y = 9

➜ 2x = 9 - 5y

➜ x = (9 - 5y) / 2

➜ \large \: x =  \frac{9 - 5y}{2}

On solving for [x]

➜  \large\frac{10 - 4y}{3}  =  \frac{9 - 5y}{2}

➜ 2 (10 - 4y) = 3 (9 - 5y)

➜ 20 - 8y = 27 - 15y

➜ 15y - 8y = 27 - 20

➜7y = 7

➜ y = 1

By putting in eq(i) ...

➜ 3x + 4y = 10

➜ 3x + 4 = 10

➜ 3x = 6

➜ x = 2
