Given:

  • Linear equations are given ,
  1. 3x-4y=12
  2. x+2y= 4.

To Find:

  • Values of x and y.

Answer:

First equation is 3x - 4y = 12 and second one is x + 2y = 4 .

Firstly let us number the equⁿ.

  • 3x - 4y = 12 .......(i)
  • x + 2y = 4 .......(ii)

Multipling (ii) with 2 ,

—» 2 ( x + 2y ) = 2×4 ⚔

—» 2x + 4y = 8 .

Now adding it with (i),

=> 3x-4y+2x+4y = 8+12.

=>5x = 20.

=> x = 20/5 .

=> x = 4 .

Putting this value in (ii),

=> 3×4 - 4y = 12 .

=> 12 - 4y = 12 .

=> -4y = 12-12

=> -4y = 0.

=> y = 0.

Hence

  • x = 4
  • y = 0.
