Given :-

3x+4y=17

4x-3y=6

To Find:-

The Values of x and y by the substitution method

Method Used:-

We should substitute the value of x by substituting the y on the other side

Solution:-

=> 3x+4y=17

=> 4x-3y=6

=> 4x-3y=6

=> 4x=6+3y

=> x=6+3y/4

=> 3x+4y=17

=> 3[6+3y/4]+4y=17

=> 18+9y/4+4y=17

=> 18+9y+16y/4=17

=> 18+25y/4=17

=> 18+25y= 17×4

=> 25y=68-18

=> 25y=50

=> y=2

Conclusion:-

The value of y is 2 and the value of x is 3

3x+4y=17

3x+8=17

3x=9

x=3
