Answer: y = 1,  x = -5

elimination method

we can add both the equations and eliminate x since x has equal value in both the equations, so we can do it like this:

  3x + 4y + 6     ---------(1)

+ 3x - 1y - 9       ---------------(2)

----------------------

  0 + 3y - 3,              so we get equation as

3y - 3 = 0            so

3y = 3

y = 3/3

y = 1

Now that we found the value of y, we can find the value of x by taking any one of the equations and substituting the value of y, so:

2x + 4y + 6 = 0  ----------- equation (1)

2x + 4(1) + 6 = 0

2x +4 +6 = 0

2x +10 = 0

2x = (-10)

x = (-10/2)

x = (-5)

So the values of the variables x and y would be:

x =  -5

y =   1

Hope this helped you and pls mark as brainliest, it took me some time to write all this and thank you
