Answer:

3x - 4y = 7 -----(1)

2x + 5y = -1 ____(2)

(1)×5 and (2) × 4

15x - 20 y = 35

8x.+ 20 y = -4

____________

23 x = 31

× = 31 / 23

putting value of X in equation 1

3x - 4y = 7

3 × 31 / 23 -4y = 7

93 / 23 -4y = 7

-4y = 161 - 93

y = -68 / 4

y = -17

Answer:

3x-4y= 7...(1)

2x+5y= -1 ...(2)

in equation (1)

3x-4y=7

4y= 3x-7

y= (3x-7)/4

by putting the value in equation 2

2x+5y=-1

2x+5{(3x-7)/4}= -1

2x+(15x-35)/4= -1

(8x+15x-35)/4=-1

23x-35=-4

23x= -4+35

23x= 31

x= 31/23.

by putting value of x in equation 1

3x-4y= 7

3(31/23)-4y= 7

(93/23)-4y= 7

-4y= 7-(93/23)

-4y= (161-93)/23

-4y= 68/23

y= (68/23)÷ (-4)

y= -17/23.
