To solve the equation for y, we subtract 3x from both sides as a 1st step.

4y+3x -3x=7 -3x

4y=7-3x

Divide both sides by 4.

4y/4=(7-3x)/4

y=7/4 - (3/4)x     0r     y =0.75-0.75x

Now give any value to x , and you get y value:

X:     0        1         2          3            4           5

y= 0.75    1         0.25   -0.50    -1.25     -2

Plot the values you get a steadily decreasing line  for y as x increases.
