3x - 5y = -1 ......... (1)
x - y = -1 ..............(2)
On multiplying equation (2) by 3 , we get
3x - 3y = -3 .... .....(3)
Now, Subtracting eq (3) from (1)
3x - 5y = -1
3x - 3y = -3
_________
2 y = 2
y = 1
Now substituting the value of "y" in equation (1), we get
3x - 5 = -1
3x = -1 + 5
x = 6/3
= 2
Hope my answer is right and helps you!!
