We get - 2y =2

Put y value In eq... 1
3x+5=-1
3x=- 6
x= - 2

Multiply the equation (ii) by 3 , we get
3x-3y=-3 ....(iii)
3x-5y= -1 ...(i)
Subtract equation (i) from equation (iii), we get
2y = -2
y = -1
Substitute the value of y=-1 in equation (ii), we get
x-(-1)= -1
x+1=-1
x= -2
