3x+5y=31 (x2)

2x-3y=20 (x3)

6x+10y=62

6x-9y=60

19y=2

y=2/19

put y=2/19 in equation 2x-3y=20

2x-3(2/19)=20

2x-6/19=20

2x=20+6/19

2x=20(19)+6/19

2x=386/19

x=386/38
