Substitution Method

3x - 5y - 4 = 0

x = (4 + 5y) /3 -----(i)

substitute this value into the 2ⁿd equation

9[(4 + 5y) /3] = 2y + 7

12 + 15y = 2y + 7

15y - 2y = 7 - 12

13y = -5

y = -5/13

so, x = (4 + 5(-5/13))/3 = (4 - 25/13)/3

= (52 - 25)/39 = 27/39

x = 9/13
