Answer:

3x+5y=9_(1)

3x+2y-4=0_(2)

(1)-(2)

3x + 5y = 9

3x + 2y = 4

(-)__(-)___(-)__

=> 0x + 3y = 5

therefore y = 5/3

substitute y = 5/3 in equation (1)

=> 3x + 5(5/3)=9

=> 3x + 25/3 = 9

=> 9x +25 = 27(by taking lcm and cross multi.)

=> 9x = 27-25

=> 9x= 2

=> x =2/9

therefore

x= 2/9 and y =5/3
