Concept Introduction:

To find solution by substitution method one variable has to be expressed in terms of another variable then the equation has to be solved.

Given: The equations 3x+6y=3900 and x+3y=1300.

To Find:

We have to find the value of, x and y.

Solution:

According to the problem,

3x+6y=3900

x+2y=1300

x=1300-2y

Putting value of x in another equation,

x+3y=1300.

1300-2y+3y=1300

y=0

x=1300-0=1300

Final Answer:

The value of x=1300 and y=0.
