y-2x-3=0...............(2)

equation (2) multiply with 7

then, 7(y-2x-3)=0

7y-14x-21=0.........(2)

by adding two equations, i.e., (1)+(2)

3x-7y+10+7y-14x-21=0

now, we had eliminated y term....so by cancelling 7y....

we have,

3x-14x+10-21=0

-11x-11=0

so, 11x= -11

x= -11/11= -1

x= -1

by substituting x value in equation (1)

3(-1)-7y+10=0

-3-7y+10=0

-7y+7=0

7y= -7

y= -7/7= -1

y= -1

so by elimination method....we got....

x= -1 , y= -1
