-9x + 5y = 16 ........(2)

Multiply equ (1) by 3

-9x + 21y = -48 ........(3)

Subtract equ. (3) from (4)

-9x + 5y = 16

+9x - 21y = -48

----------------------

-16y = -32

y = -32/-16

y = 2 .........(4)

Put the value of y in equ. (2)

-9x + 5(2) = 16

-9x + 10 = 16

-9x = 16 - 10

-9x = 6

x = -6/9

x = -2/3

So, We get the value of x and y by using Elimination method -

x = -2/3

y = 2
