3x+7y=36........1*2

6x+5y=27..........2

using elimination method

6x+14y=72........3

6x+5y=27. .........2 substracting 3 and 2

......................

9y=45

y=45/9=5;

substitute y=5 in 2

6x+5*5=27

6x=27-25

x=2/6

x=1/3;

therefore answer is x=1/3 and y =5,

Answer:

Explanation:

3x+7y=36.....(1)

3x+7y=36.....(1)6x+5y=27.....(2)

Multiplying equ (1) by 5 we get,

15x+35y=180.....(3)

Multiplying equ (2) by 7 we get,

42x+35y=189.....(4)

Subtracting equ (3) & equ (4)

15x+35y=180

- 42x+35y=189

-27x + 0y= -9

-27x = -9

x= -27 ÷ -9

x= 27 ÷ 9

x= 3

Substituting the value of x= 3 in equ (1)

3x+7y=36

3 × (3) + 7y = 36

9 + 7y = 36

7y= 36-9

7y = 28

y = 28 ÷ 7

y = 4
