3x = 8(x+2/3)

Taking L.C.M.

3x = 8{(3x+2)/3}

3x = (24x + 16)/3

9x = 24x + 16

24x - 9x = -16

15x = -16

x = -16/15

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Given 3x = 8(x+2/3)

Multiply the number outside the brackets with the number inside the brackets separately [ a(b+c) = ab+ac]

3x= 8x+ 8 X 2/3 (Multiply 8 and 2/3)

3x=8x + 16/3

Transpose.....

3x-8x= 16/3 ( just put the like variable together)

-5x = 16/3

x= 16/3 ÷ -5 (in division always take reciprocal)

16/3 X -1/5 (multiply)

Therefore your answer after multiplying is -16/15

Hope this explanation helps
