Given:-

  • 3x -  \frac{2}{y}  = 5
  • x +  \frac{4}{y}  = 4

To Find:-

  • x
  • y

Solution:-

3x -  \frac{2}{y}  = 5..(1)

x + \dfrac{4}{y} = 4..(2)

Let

 \frac{1}{y}  = a

Then,

3x -  2 a= 5..(3)

x + 4a= 4..(4)

Now, Multiplying equation (3) with 2

(3x -  2 a= 5) \times 2

 =  > 6x - 4a = 10..(5)

Now, adding equation (4) and (5)

x + 4a + 6x - 4a= 4 + 10

 =  > 7x = 14

 =  > x =  \frac{14}{7}

 =  > x = 2

Now Substituting the Value of x in Equation (4)

 =  > x + 4a= 4

 =  > 2 + 4a = 4

 =  > 4a = 4 - 2

 =  > 4a = 2

 =  > a =  \frac{2}{4}

 =  > a =  \frac{1}{2}

We Know that,

 \frac{1}{y}  = a

So,

 \frac{1}{y}  =  \frac{1}{2}

\therefore \: y = 2

Hence, The Values are:-

  • \sf \: x = 2
  • \sf \: y = 2
