Howdy!!

your answer is ----

3x + y = 10 .....(1)
x - y = 2 .......(2)

adding equation (1) and (2) , we get

4x = 12

=> x = 12/4 = 3

put this value in equ (2) ,we get

3 - y = 2

=> y = 3 - 2

=> y = 1

hence , x = 3 and y = 1

hope it help you

Hi friend,

Here is your answer,
______________________________________________________________
3x + y = 10                   -------------------(i)

x - y = 2                        -------------------(ii)

From (ii) ,

x = 2 + y

Put this value of x in (i)

3(2 + y) + y = 10

=> 6 + 3y + y   = 10

=> 6 + 4y         = 10

=> 4y               = 10 - 6

=> 4y               = 4

=> y                 =
                           4

            y = 1

Put it in (ii) to find the value of x

=> x - 1 = 2

=> x      = 2 + 1

=> x      = 3

Ans: x = 3 and y = 1
