(3x+y=15)-(x+2y=10) then find the value of x and y

Answer:

3x +y=15

x-2y=10

(multiply 2nd equation by 3 )

we get

3x-6y=30

now subtract 1 equation from 3rd equation

we get

3x-6y=30

-3x+y=15

5y=15

y=15/5

y=3

now put y=3 in equation 1st we get

3x+3=15

3x=15-3

3x=12

x=12/3

x=4

therefore

x=4 and y=3
