3x + y = 21 .. eq 1

2x +4y = 24 ..eq 2

Solving eq 1 and 2

3x + y = 21 × 2

2x +4y = 24 × 3

6x + 2y = 42

6x + 12y = 72

y = 3 ... Ans

Placing value of y in eq 1

3x + 3 = 21

3x = 21-3

x = 18/3

x = 6

:. x= 6 and y = 3
