3x -y=23
-y=23-3x

 \frac{x}{3}  +  \frac{y}{4}  = 4
 \frac{x}{3}  +  \frac{23 - 3x}{4}  = 4
4x + 3(23  - 3x) = 4  \times 12
 4x + 69 - 9x = 48
 - 5x + 69 = 48
 - 5x =  - 69 + 48
 - 5x = -  21
 - x =   -  \frac{21}{5}
x =  \frac{21}{5}

3x-y=23
3 \times  \frac{21}{5}  + y = 23
 \frac{63}{5}  + y = 23
y = 23 -  \frac{63}{5}
y =  \frac{115 + 63}{5}
y =  \frac{178}{5}
