6x-2y = 4 ...(iii)

=> x+6x+2y-2y = 7
=> 7x = 7
=> x = 7/7
x = 1
On putting the value of x in (i),
3x-y = 2
=> 3×1-y = 2
=> y = 3-2
y = 1
