then we have to subtract EQ.2 so put minus sign in front of eq.2

3X-Y-3=0

-(4X-Y-8)=0

it will be :

3X-Y-3=0

-4x+y+8=0

y will be cut so, EQ. will be

3x-3=0

-4x+8=0

so it will be ,

-x = -5

x=5
