Multiplying eq'n ( 1 ) by 7 and eq'n ( 2 ) by 3, we get
From eq'n ( 1 )
3x - y = 3
=> 3x - ( 3 ) = 3
=> 3x - 3 = 3
=> 3x = 3 + 3
=> 3x = 6
=> x = 2
Hence the value of x = 2 and y = 3
