GivEn EquAtiOnS :-

  • 3x + y - 5 = 0
  • 2x - y - 5 = 0

To FinD :-

  • values of x and y

SoLutiOn :-

On Adding both the sides of the Equations,

We get

\sf{3x + y - 5 + 2x - y - 5 = 0 + 0}

\sf{3x + 2x + y - y - 5 - 5 = 0 }

\sf{5x  - 10= 0 }

\sf{5x   = 10 }

\sf\red{\underline{\therefore \: x   = 2 }}

Now, putting the value of x in any one of the Equations, we have

\sf{3x + y - 5  = 0 }

\sf{(3 \times 2) + y - 5  = 0 }

\sf{6+ y - 5  = 0 }

\sf{y  + 1  = 0 }

\sf\red{\underline{\therefore \: y   =  - 1 }}

Which are the required values of x and y.
