=) In the example

3x + y = 5 ...............( i )

2x + 3y = 1 .............. ( ii )

Now,multiply by 3 equation ( i) we get,

3 (3x + y ) = 5

9x + 3y = 15 .............( iii )

Subtract equation ( ii ) and (iii ) we get,

2x + 3y = 1
9x + 3y = 15
------------------
-7x = -14 .........(multiple by -1)

7x = 14

x = 14/7

x = 2

: x = 2 taking equation ( ii ) we get,

2x + 3y = 1

2 * 2 + 3y = 1

4 + 3y = 1

3y = 1-4

3y = -3

y = -3/3

y = -1

Therefore, x = 2 and y = -1 are the solution of the equation.

Thanks....
