Answer:

☆ Given - 3x + y=5

- 2x + 3y = 1

☆ To find - solution of equation by substitution method.

☆ Solution -

3x + y=5 --------1

2x + 3y = 1-------2

3x + y= 5

3x = y - 5

x = y- 5/ 3 -------3

putting value of X in eq. 2

2( y- 5/3) + 3y = 1

2y - 10+ 9y = 3

2y + 9y = 3 + 10

11y = 13

y = 13/ 11

putting value of y in eq. 3

X = y- 5/3

= 13/11- 5/3

= 13-5/33

= (-8)/33

hence , the value of x = (-8)/33 and value of y = 13/11

ADDITTIONAL INFORMATION

---------------------------------------------

• In substitution method we substitute the value of one variable into the other and then find the solution .

• In elimination method we eliminate one variable by multiplying coefficient of that variable with other.
