SUBSTITUTION METHOD;

3x - y = 7

y = 3x-7 ____(i)

x + 4y = 11 ___(ii)

Putting value of (i) in equation (ii);

x + 4×( 3x - 7 ) = 11

x + 12x - 28 = 11

13x - 28 = 11

13x = 11 + 28

x = 39/13

x = 3

Putting value of x in (i) equation;

y = 3(3) - 7

y = 2
