Given :-

  • 3x² = 2x + 8

To Find :-

  • The value of x = ?

Answer :-

  • The value of x = ?

Explaination :-

➺ 3x² = 2x + 8

➺ 3x² - 2x - 8 = 0

By using splitting middle term we get :

  • Here, The first term is 3x² it's coefficient is 3, The middle number is -2x and it's coefficient -2 and the last number is -8 which is constant.

➺ 3x² - 6x + 4x - 8 = 0

➺ 3x(x - 2) + 4(x - 2) = 0

➺ (3x + 4) (x - 2) = 0

➺ 3x + 4 = 0

➺ 3x = -4

➺ x = -4/3

or

➺ x - 2 = 0

➺ x = 2

  • x = -4/3 or x = 2

Hence,

  • The value of x is -4/3 or x = 2

We have to solve this equation :- 3x² = 2x + 8

We can simply do this by the process of Factorization

Firstly we would simply transpose the digits

So, 3x² - 2x - 8 = 0

Now, we can simply factorize 3x² - 2x - 8

We Will do it by Middle Term Split

→ 3x² - 6x + 4x -8

Take Common

→ 3x(x - 2) + 4(x - 2)

→ (3x + 4)(x - 2)

So, (3x + 4)(x - 2)

3x + 4 = 0

→ 3x = - 4 (By Transposing)

→ x = -4/3

x - 2 = 0

→ x = 2 (By Transposing)

So, the value of x is -4/3 or 2
