Solution A had pH value 6 which means lesser than neutral i.e. 7. So, it has more hydrogen ions and acidic since acids release hydrogen ions (H+)

Solution B has pH value 10 i.e. higher than neutral 7 and it gives off HO- ions ( Hydroxyl ions) making it a base
