I'm not sure what you mean by "applications of angular momentum". The Law of Conservation of Angular Momentum is extremely important: it explains how explosions work, why our planet still spins, why we orbit the sun and why, when two things crash into each other, they sometimes bounce.

"But... That last example was just about momentum" I hear you cry. Get this: momentum is exactly equivalent to angular momentum (this can be proved with triganometry amongst other methods), and in fact angular momentum is far more useful as it allows us to deal with rotation and curved paths.

Conventional momentum is merely a generalisation of angular momentum in a specific circumstance. Conservation of angular momentum is probably the most important conservation law after that of energy.
