3y + \frac{2}{2} - 5y = - \frac{5}{7} \\ \\ \frac{3y}{1} + \frac{2}{2} - \frac{5y}{1} = - \frac{5}{7} \\ \\ \frac{6y + 2 - 10y}{2} = - \frac{5}{7} \\ \\ \frac{ - 4y + 2}{2} = \frac{ - 5}{7} \\ \\ 7( - 4y + 2) = - 5 \times 2 \\ \\ - 28y + 14 = - 10 \\ \\ - 28y = - 10 - 14 \\ \\  - 28y = - 24 \\ \\ 28y = 24 \\\\  y = \frac{24}{28} \\ \\ y = \frac{6}{7}
