 \frac{3 {y}^{4}  - 3 {y}^{3}  - 4 {y}^{2} - 4y }{ {y}^{2}  - 2y}
take common y from numerator and denominator,and cancel
y - 2)3 {y}^{3}  - 3 {y}^{2} - 4y - 4(3 {y}^{2} + 3y + 2  \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  3 {y}^{3}  - 6 {y}^{2}  \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  3 {y}^{2}  - 4y \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  3 {y}^{2}  - 6y \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  2y - 4 \\ \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  2y - 4 \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   -  -  -  -  -  -  -  -
so quotient is
3 {y}^{2}  + 3y + 2
