The perimeter of ABCD = 116 cm, Option d, 116 is the correct answer

Given:

In the given figure AB = BC = CD

To find:

The perimeter of the given figure

Solution:

Given that AB = BC = CD

From figure, AB + BC + CD = 42

=> AB = 42/3 = 14

=> CD = 42/3 = 14

If join the points BC then there will be two half circle

Therefore,

Perimeter of ABCD = Sum of the perimeters of 2 half circles + AB+BC

As we know Perimeter of the circle = 2πr

=> Perimeter of half circle = πr

Perimeter of large circle = π (21) = 22/7(21) = 22(3) = 66 cm

Perimeter of small circle = π (7) = 22/7(7) = 22 cm

From the above calculations,

Perimeter of ABCD =  66 + 22 + 14 + 14

= 116cm

Therefore,

The perimeter of ABCD = 116 cm, Option d, 116 is the correct answer.
