Respected ma'am
I am most sorry for my bad performance in the previous Mathematics exam. I know you had high hopes that I would score very well but I am ashamed it turned out otherwise.
Because of so many events conducted in between the tests, I got distracted easily. This upset my study hours. As a result, I started to burn the midnight oil and prepare for exams late till st-upid o'clock. It stressed me out so much that I lost a lot of weight. I began to lag behind with all the syllabus I was not able to keep up with. Thinking back, I feel very disappointed about my excessive procrastination. Now I understand why they call it the "thief of time".
I hope you will understand and let me remain one of your favourite students. I will learn from this mistake. I promise that I will work hard next time and exceed your expectations.
Yours sincerely
Smita
Formal Letter Writing
As the name suggests, formal letters are letters written in a formal language. These are addressed to teachers, editors, employees, colleagues etc. The format of a formal letter is as follows:
________________________
✦ Sender's address
✦ Date
✦ Recipient's address
✦ Greetings
✦ Body
- Introduction
- Content
- Conclusion
✦ Complimentary Closing
✦ Name of the sender
________________________
- Note that sometimes, when writing a formal letter to a teacher, we exclude the 'recipient's address'.
And we're done :D
