Answer:

(i) 60 m/s (ii) 4 s

Explanation:

(i) Speed = Distance/ Time

Distance = 120 m

Time = 2 s

Speed = 120/2

= 60 m/s

(ii) Speed = Distance / Time

Therefore,

Time = Distance/ Speed

Distance = 240 m

Speed = 60 m/s ( Speed uniform)

Time = 240/60

= 4 s.

Given :-

  • Distance travelled by the train ➜ 120 m
  • Time taken ➜ 2 s

To find :-

  • speed of the train
  • the time it will take to cover 240 m.

Solution :-

i) speed of the train

we know

\bf{Speed\:of\:the\:train= \frac{distance \: travelled}{time \: taken}}

\bf{  \implies  \frac{120m}{2s}} = 60m \: s {}^{ - 1}

ii) Time taken by the train to cover 240 m

we know,

\sf{time \: taken =  \frac{distance}{speed} }

\sf{  \implies \:  \frac{240m}{60m \: s {}^{ - 1} } } = 4s

Therefore,

\sf \red{ speed \:of\: the \:train \:is  \:60 m s {}^{ - 1} }

And

\sf\red{time \: taken \: by \: the \: train \: to \: cover \: 240 \: m \: is \: 4s}

Hope it helps uh
