Given:

(i) The given sequence is 4/3, 7/3, 9/3, 12/3...

To find:

(i) The sequence is an AP (Arithmetic Progression) or not.

Answer:

(i) To check whether a given sequence is an AP or not, we have to see whether the common difference between two consecutive terms throughout the sequence is same or not.

(ii) If it is same, then the sequence is an AP.

(iii) First term = 4/3

Second term = 7/3

Common difference between them (d) = Second term - First term

= 7/3 - 4/3

= 3/3

= 1

(iv) Second term = 7/3

Third term = 9/3

Common difference between them (d') = Third term - Second term

= 9/3 - 7/3

= 2/3

(v) d and d' are not equal, so this is not an AP.

The given sequence is not an AP.
