Given :  4 : 48 :: 100 : ?

To find :  Value of ?

Solution:

a  :  b  ::  c  : d

means  a/b  = c/d

or a * d   = b * c

=> ad  = bc

let say n comes at place of ?

then

4 : 48 :: 100 : n

Comparing with

a  :  b  ::  c  : d

a = 4

b = 48

c = 100

d = n

4 * n  = 48 * 100

Dividing both sides by 4

=> n = 12 * 100

=> n  = 1200

Hence Value of ?  = 1200
