4/5 of 5 kg apples=4×5/5 = 4 kg was used on Monday.

Apples left for Tuesday=1kg

1/3 of 1kg= ⅓kg

So, Weight (in kg) of apples left now is = 1 – (1/3)

=3/3-⅓

=2/3 kg of apples

Hence, (b) 2/3 is the correct answer.

Hope it helps you.

Answer:

(b) 2/3

Step-by-step explanation:

Apples used on Monday = 4/5 x 5 kg [5 to 5 cut]

                                                                =4 Kg

Remaining apples = 1 kg
1/3 of 1 kg is 1/3 kg

Left apples = 5 - (4 + 1/3) kg
LCM of 1, 3 is 3

4 = 4/1 x 3 kg
=12/3 kg

5 - (12/3 + 1/3)
5 - 13/3 kg

5 = 5/1 kg
LCM of 1, 3 is 3

5/1 x 3 kg
=15/3 kg

15/3 - 13/3 kg
=2/3 kg

Remaining apples are - 2/3 Kg
