4/5 part of a tank is filled with oil. After taking out 42 litres of oil the tank is 3/4 part full. What is the capacity (in litres) of the tank?

4/5 C - 42 = 3/4 C       where C is the capacity

16 C - 840 = 15 C         multiply by 20

C = 840

Check: .8 * 840 - 42 = 630    and 630 / 840 = .75
