4. A 1cm object is placed perpendicular to the principal axis of a convex mirror of focal length 7.5cm. Find its distance from the mirror if the image formed is 0.6 cm in size.

Given :

h0= 1cm

focal length =f = 7.5 cm =15/2 cm

hi= 0.6cm

m= - v/ u = hi/ho

m= -v/u =  0.6/ 1

- v/u = 0.6

-v = 0.6 u

1/f= 1/v+1/u

= - 1/0.6u +1/u = 1/f

= -5/3u + 1/u = 2/15

= -5-+3/3u= 2/15

= -2/3u = 2/15

3u= -15

u= -15/3

u=- 5cm
