4. A bag contains 5 red balls, 4 green balls and 7
black balls. A ball is drawn at random from the
bag. Find the probability that it is:
(1) black
(2) not green​

Total outcomes=5+4+7=16,

1) probability that a ball is black,

favourable outcomes=7,

therefore,

probability that a ball is black =

Favourable outcomes/total outcomes,

=7/16.

2) probability that ball is not green,

favourable outcomes=not green means either red or black ball=5+7=12,

therefore,

probability that a ball is not green=12/16=3/4.
